We have some exciting things happening behind the scenes here at Digital Photo Mentor. Just wanted to give you a little teaser of what’s coming soon!
New lighting course coming soon!
You asked for it – we’re building it. One of the most requested things I here from you is more articles and tips on lighting and using off-camera flash. So I’ve teamed up with another local photographer, and teacher who I work with to create a new course called:
Portrait Fundamentals – your guide to using natural light and off-camera flash
Meet Bruce
My fellow teacher is Bruce Clarke. He operates Moments in Digital with his wife Sarah here in Edmonton, and teaches with Burwell school of Photography where I taught for years with Paul Burwell. Since his death though, I’ve left the school to pursue my own private tutoring, classes, photography workshops and photo tours.
Bruce teaches an off-camera flash course and he will be doing those portions of our course here also. Here are a few shots of him in action during our video shoots for the course:
We spent several days shooting in the studio, and a full day out on location both indoors, outdoors and at sunset to create some great examples and lesson for you to follow along.
I am teaching most of the camera basics stuff, and all about natural light including lighting patterns, ratios, using reflectors and window light, and how to find good light outside and on location. Here are a few images of me in action:
We also shot in the studio going over all sorts of things including equipment settings, setting up for off-camera flash, talking about lenses, lighting and more. We had a model come in to help us – here you can see the fabulous Jill.
So as I said this is a teaser. The course isn’t finished yet so it’s not available. We are anticipating having it ready to release in late fall (likely November). Can’t wait that long?
Update
Portrait Fundamentals has now been released.
Cheers,
