Let Go – with Pat Flynn

June 16, 2013 by Darlene Hildebrandt

Ever wish you could leave your J.O.B. and be a photographer full time?
What if circumstances didn’t give you a choice, what would you do?

If you can relate to any of the following, there will be great nuggets for you in this interview with businessman, podcaster, and author of the new book Pat Flynn.

If you want to leave your job and do photography full time
If you’ve ever lost a job outside your control (laid off, fired, forced retirement)
If you’re on the verge of saying “oh what the hell” and going for it but you have reservations and fears
If you’ve dreamt about having your own business

Watch the video interview to get tips on how to handle these situations and prosper. (you may not be able to watch the video in your email, if not please click through to the article on the website to view it.)

What is your message? Storytelling photography

June 5, 2013 by Darlene Hildebrandt

Great photography is a balance of technical and artistic!

You need to develop both parts of that equation. The best in their field produce storytelling photography that is both technically sound, and interesting enough to draw the viewer in to their images. In this article we’ll explore a few ways you can start to add an artistic and storytelling element to your images so you can get more “wow” comments.

Start thinking about “why” and some other thought provoking questions to ask yourself while you are photographing. Finally an action plan for you to get out there and give it a try and share your results.

If you’ve ever wanted people to say “wow” when they see your images, you’ll want to read this article!

Photography and the Law: What Every Photographer Needs to Know

May 14, 2013 by Darlene Hildebrandt

Have you ever wondered about taking photos of people and posting them online, or maybe you want to sell your images at a craft fair and had questions about whether you can legally do so? I sat down and chatted with John Corcorcan who is a lawyer in California and he helped clarify a few things about photography and what we can and can’t do legally as photographers. Watch this 20 minute video to get a summary of how to protect yourself and your images.
