Do you want to learn how to photograph the Milky Way? Or maybe you want to capture star trails and paint with lights?
Then join us for this special night photography workshop in Alberta,Canada, and learn the different techniques of photographing at night.
Over the course of this 5-day workshop, we will cover everything you need to know to begin taking epic night time shots. From using long exposure to capturing the perfect sunset we will guide you through it all.
We will even help you to choose the right equipment, and teach you how to set it up.
And as a special treat, we may even be able to capture the Northern Lights in all their magnificence. While Canada is perfectly situated for photographing the Aurora Borealis, this incredible display of nature’s magnificence is wholly dependant on the sun, so we can’t guarantee it. However, if we do encounter it, we’ll show you how to get great night time shots
This workshop will be 2 full afternoons of instruction, 2 nights of shooting and practicing the techniques you’ve learned and a final afternoon of image review and Lightroom processing techniques.
I have never quite accomplished a good night shot when it comes to including skies and stars, even after a class in night shooting and multiple tries on camping trips. I was attempting it again while practicing light painting at the hoodoos and after a few suggestions from Darlene, I had a turning point moment. I looked at the preview in my camera and I was stunned, I could hardly believe I had taken the picture I was seeing.
That single moment was worth the entire trip

Workshop participantTake Time to Put Your Learning into Action
On all of our Photography Tours and Workshops, we like to focus on putting your learning into practice in real situations.
Each day you will learn new techniques and each evening you will put those techniques into practice. We will be close at hand to troubleshoot and problem solve helping you understand what is required to get the images you want.
We will be there to support your photography journey.
Small group with 1 on 1 support
There is a maximum of 8 people in this workshop.
This small number of students allows for a more intimate group setting. This allows for more one-on-one contact with your instructors.
Each evening we will travel to a different location for an evening shoot. Each will have a slightly different focus. Our afternoons will be spent learning the different techniques for capturing images at night and reviewing the images we took on the previous nights shoot. We will also use this time to learn various post processing techniques in Lightroom and studying examples of great night photography.
