This is the final lesson in my 7-Day photo editing photography challenge series and today you’ll be working on a night photography image. You’ll see how to bring out detail in areas of importance, tone down bright areas, and give your image a stylized look. There will also be a review of some of the techniques and tips you learned this week to put it all together.

For Day 6 of this photography challenge, you’re going to be working with texture overlays and learning how to create an artistic look for your photos. Use one or all of the four texture overlays provided to practice your editing skills. Then to continue, apply a LUT to add a color style as a finishing touch. See how creative you can get, or just become more familiar with the software.

Day 5 of our photography challenge is about landscape photography editing and how to bring out detail. I’ll also demonstrate the Luminar 4 AI Sky Replacement tool to show you how easy it is. You will learn how to bring out detail in areas of the image that are overly dark or bright. Your challenge is to enhance the image, not go overboard, and keep the color natural-looking.

Details and Masking is the focus of our 4th day in our 7-Day photography challenge. You will learn to bring out detail in your photos, in particular, a macro photography image. I’ll walk you through how to do it using Luminar 4, but you’re welcome to use the software of your choice. You’ll also see how to apply “Local Adjustments” which only affect parts of the image by using masking. It sounds hard but in this challenge, I’ll show you how to do it step by step. That allows you to control precisely where the detail is enhanced and brought out, and where it is not. Doing so means you can keep the background softer, which will draw the viewers eye more to the subject and your image will POP more.

In Day 3 of our 7-Day photography challenge, designed to help you sharpen your photo editing skills, we’re going to be working on converting a color image to black and white. I’ll walk you through how to do it the right way and the wrong way! The right way to do b/w conversion gives you more control over how the different colors are represented in the monochromatic version. You can adjust each color tone for many different variations and looks in the black and white image. This photography challenge should help you with black and white conversions and a few extra skills.
