Just a quick note this week because school is now out and most people have a long weekend. So I figured you’d rather be out doing photography than reading about it. If you haven’t already grabbed a copy of my FREE ebook, 10 Challenges to help you take better pictures, now’s a good time to do so and start practicing!

In Canada July 1st is Canada Day, and in the US it’s Independence Day on July 4th. So there will be lots of fireworks. Here’s a few fireworks photos I’ve taken at both events. If you want to know how to shoot fireworks head over to my article on Digital Photography School, 15 tips for Successful Fireworks Photography (click through to view on your web browser to get the link)

Today photographers in Canada scored a huge victory as the outdated copyright law was finally updated. Here’s my take on it and links to some more detailed articles on the changes.

Learn Photography Basics

Yes, you can learn to take better photos! It’s my passion to help you learn the photography basics and take better pictures. It’s also the same reason I teach workshops, do photo travel tours, and have online photography courses available.

Enroll in our free photography basics for beginners course, or 12-part portrait photography course, also free.
